Forms are now available for the admissions test for MA Arts and MPhil Arts. Here is the notification in pdf which gives all the information on minimum requirements etc.
You can download the forms from the JU website or click here for MA, here for MPhil for the pdfs. The deadline for MA forms is 28 April (16 April if sending by post so if you haven’t yet sent it in you will have to submit it in person at the counter on the ground floor or Aurobindo Bhavan), and for MPhil is 12 May (28 April by post). The form costs fifty rupees. If you download you will have to attach a draft in favour of Jadavpur University for Rs 75/- to the form before you submit. Don’t forget to attach your photographs. During the test we will go round and match your face to the picture on your form, and we can’t do that if your form doesn’t have any pictures on it. You will get a noting on your form if you haven’t attached a picture or if your face doesn’t match.
The MA admission test will be on Wednesday 14 May, and the MPhil test will be on 29 May. Sample question papers are up on the notice board of the Department of English. No, we cannot give you copies, but you can take down the questions by hand.
There will be no interview after the tests. You do not need to submit or show any documents during the test. Just bring your brain and a pen, give the test and go home. Lists of successful candidates will be put up afterwards. You will be notified of the date when this is scheduled to happen.
The BA forms will be made available, and the date of the admission test set, once we hear that the HS results have come out (because you can’t fill it up unless you know your marks, right? so don’t pester me till the results are out). Watch this space.
And don’t ask me what the noble ideals of the NCE Bengal are. Possibly they have something to do with Monida.
Meanwhile, yay for Kolkata Knight Riders!
